Zealous Solar

Corporate Sales

In 2025, compliance with the Future Homes Standard (FHS) will become mandatory. It's aim is to ensure that new homes built from 2025 will produce 75-80% less carbon emissions than homes built under the current Building Regulations. Measures include cavity and loft insulation, energy-efficient heat pumps and of course, solar PV panels.

Our panels can be retrofitted into an existing roof, however, for new build projects, we are finding more and more designers are turning to integrated panels due to their increased efficiency and appealing aesthetics.

Social Housing Landlords

From next year, new build homes in the UK will require energy-saving technology. Social housing landlords are advised consider incorporating solar photovoltaic (PV) systems as a cost-effective and readily available solution to meet the new regulations.

Solar panels can also be integrated into existing roofs during retrofitting or planned maintenance, offering long-term energy savings for tenants. Additionally, landlords planning to install heat pumps should consider using solar panels to power them and enhance energy efficiency. The UK climate is suitable for solar panels, and tenant feedback has been positive, as they save money and contribute to a positive impact on the environment.

New Builds

The UK government's Future Homes Standard and interim changes to Part L are prompting housebuilders to seek effective ways to achieve carbon reduction demands. Option 2 of the standard requires either solar PV with a gas boiler or a heat pump. While heat pumps are seen as the future, housebuilders may opt for solar PV and efficient gas boilers in the short term due to cost-effectiveness and readily available supply chains. Beyond 2025, both heat pumps and solar PV are expected to be essential for new homes, offering a balanced energy solution and reducing running costs for residents.

Housebuilders can achieve maximum efficiency by combining solar PV panels with heat pumps. This synergistic approach harnesses the power of solar energy to complement the heat pump's operation, optimizing energy usage and reducing overall running costs. Together, these technologies offer a balanced and eco-friendly solution for housebuilders, homeowners and tenants alike, promoting sustainability and reducing carbon footprints.
